Assistance League Antelope Valley had our visit with National Assistance League on Wednesday and we had a fantastic time! National Assistance League was impressed with how we’ve handled all of the changes we have gone through. Our Programs and Projects are reaching more people in the community, and our membership is increasing. National Assistance League provided some valuable suggestions on how we can continue to improve the organization. It was a great visit. Thanks to Jeannie and Cindy! Assistance League of Antelope Valley is proud to support the Women’s Clinic of the Antelope Valley. Here’s one of the TV’s we were able to donate to the clinic recently:
We had a great turnout for our Jan. 18 informational meeting at the Assistance League Antelope Valley Chapter House. We’re pleased to welcome our new members Cassie Anderson, Lisa Fourr, Jill Mellady, and Beth Rockey. Thank you, ladies, for joining us in serving our community! ‘Tis the season! Yesterday, December 14, our ladies delivered more than 200 wrapped gifts for local children to the Department of Children and Family Services. Special thanks to Sharon Kindig with ALAV and Rachel Telles with DCFS for putting this all together. It is so rewarding to give these gifts.
That’s a wrap! Our team of volunteers from ALAV and Dept of Children and Family Services had a great time this week wrapping more than 200 Christmas presents for local children. These might be the only gifts they receive this holiday and we can’t wait to put a smile on their face when we deliver these to DCFS on Dec. 14.
We are currently working with the Department of Children and Family Services on a gift-giving program for 207 foster children ranging from infants to 12 years old, and this week we were busy doing gift-buying. We are having a wrapping party at 10 a.m. on Dec. 10 at the Chapter House. Click here for a flyer on the Dec. 12 holiday party.
We’d like to extend congratulations to our newest voting members, Beverly Wilson and Megan Bohannan. We always love seeing people get more involved in the work the Assistance League is doing to serve the community. Interested in how YOU can get more involved? Click here and contact us today!
