You won’t want to miss this! The third annual “Walk a Mile in Her Shoes” is scheduled THIS SATURDAY at the Antelope Valley College football field parking lot. ALAV is proud to partner with the college, Antelope Valley Hospital and the Zonta Club of the Antelope Valley to host this event to raise awareness about gender-based violence. Everyone was a winner at the Antelope Valley Country Club on Monday at our annual golf tournament fundraiser, Tee Off Fore Kids. But here is a look at those who were victorious ON the golf course too! Our first-place team was Newt Chelette, Brady Chellete, Todd Porter and Jason Larimore. The annual ALAV golf tournament fundraiser, “Tee Off Fore Kids,” drew more than 100 golfers and 25 volunteers to the AV Country Club on Monday, Aug. 26. Reports ALAV Treasurer Denise German: “We had 104 players, around 25 volunteers and multiple sponsors. Kiwanis of Palmdale West did a fantastic job with helping us! More than 4,000 people turned out on Saturday at Antelope Valley Partners for Health for the annual Operation School Bell event. This year ALAV partnered with AVPH on Operation School Bell, in which we provided school backpacks and products for thousands of local families. ALAV purchased the backpacks and items to stuff them.
