A pair of special presentations were made to ALAV at our meeting earlier this week, both recognizing the organization’s support of local children in need. The first presentation came from Rachel Telles of the Department of Children and Family Services, who presented a plaque of commendation to Valerie Copeland, ALAV’s vice president of philanthropic programs, in recognition of ALAV’s purchase of 201 gifts for foster care children ages 12 and under as part of the Foster Youth Holiday event.
The second was from Dr. Mark Marshall, superintendent of the Eastside Union School District. Dr. Marshall presented Valerie Copeland with a plaque commending ALAV for supplying 250 Target gift cards ($100 each) to elementary school students to purchase school supplies and clothing as part of Operation School Bell last fall.
Thanks to everyone who helped and supported these efforts!
